Taylor County EMS Association
(TCEMSA) Quarterly Meeting
April 6, 2010
Present: Jan Beach-Sickels, Michelle Hobbick, Mike Fisher, Diana
Fisher, Lanny Ross, Al Rusk, Tom Mothershed, and Kandi Wichman
President Jan Beach-Sickels called the meeting to
order at 7:10 PM. Since minutes weren’t printed off from the
last meeting, Jan read notes from previous meeting. She had
e-mailed the minutes after the last meeting for everyone to read.
Michelle made a motion to approve the minutes. Tom seconded
the motion. There was a unanimous vote to approve minutes.
Treasurer, Mike Fisher read the treasurer’s
report. Bills were submitted. Tom made a motion to
approve the treasurer’s report. Treasurer’s report was
seconded by Lanny and unanimous approval by members.
Under old business, Jan brought up the discussion
from last meeting about updating radios. Diana
reported that she had gotten a phone call from Mary Weaver, director
of Blockton ambulance advising their radios were up to date, so no
new radios or pagers are needed. Lanny Ross, New Market
director advised they need one mobile and one portable.
Gravity director, Tom Mothershed requested four pagers and one
portable. Al Rusk advised he needed four pagers. Lenox
director, Jan Beach-Sickles requested six portable and one mobile
for Lenox and three portables for Clearfield. The requests
added up to $36.00 more than grant allowed after taking one portable
off of Lenox’s request. It was decided to prioritize the
ordering. Kandi made the motion to approve the order as listed
New Market 1 mobile and 1 portable; Gravity 1 portable and 4 pagers;
Bedford 4 pagers; Clearfield three portables; and Lenox five
portables and 1 mobile for $8856. The motion was seconded by
Michelle Hobbick and approved by all.
EMS frequency was discussed. The group
discussed regional EMS frequency. It was decided to discuss again at
the next meeting. It was also discussed having a communication
drill. It was agreed it was a good idea because in any
disaster drill, communication is the biggest problem.
For new business, Mike Fisher
presented a survey by John Hopkins Hospital that the board of
supervisor had passed to him. President, Jan Beach-Sickles
will complete and return the survey.
The next meeting will be
in Bedford on June 8th at 7 PM.
A fundraiser was brought
up to be discussed at the next meeting.
Michelle made a motion to
adjourn. Kandi seconded the motion. All were in favor.
